Gary M. “Mickey” Coffman – GM, Walter N. Coffman, Inc. Lath and Plaster
Mickey is a second generation plasterer who started his career in the industry as a hod carrier in 1969. In 1972 he switched to on the job training as a plasterer, a trade at which he worked for seven years. He then did estimating for Coffman Enterprises for three years after which he became a field supervisor. When his father retired from the business Mickey became President of the family business.
Mickey has had extensive experience in all types of plastering. Supervising a work force of as many as 150 employees, simultaneous contracts in tracts and industrial construction have been completed. Work for federal, state, county and city agencies has been performed. Custom homes and office building have been regular areas of performance. Intricate cutouts, arches, pop outs and other architectural distinctive designs finished in stucco are a special of the firm.
As a member of the Associated Plastering and Lathing Contractors, Mickey has served on the Board of directors for a number of years, serving 4 of them as President. Mickey was a trustee of the Plasterers Local 346 Taft-Hartley Trusts 1986 – 2000.
